Step 1: Provide Measurements

Step 2: Select Type of Mount
Decide whether shade should be mounted inside or outside the window frame and follow the measuring instructions below.
Inside Mount: Shade or blind will be mounted (recessed) inside the window frame.
Use a metal tape measure. (A fabric tape measure may stretch.)

Measure each window separately. (Sizes may vary slightly.) |
- Measure the width (A) of the opening. Because not all windows are exactly "square", measure the width in three places: high, middle and low. record the shortest width.
- Measure the length (B) of the opening.

Outside Mount: Shade or blind will be mounted on the outside of the window frame.
Use a metal tape measure. (A fabric tape measure may stretch.)

Measure each window separately. (Sizes may vary slightly.)

- Measure the width (A) of the area to be covered; include window trim when applicable
• The recommended overlap is at least 1 1/2" on each side.
- Measure the length (B) of the opening.
• Be sure to measure from the top of the opening/trim to the sill, bottom of the apron or the floor/carpet surface. Add 3" for bracket installation above the opening/trim.
• For floor-length or sill-length blinds, subtract 3/8" for clearance.
• For apron-length, add 1/2" for overlap.
